We The People: The Power of Women and the American Promise

NAWBO NEO has partnered with the Cleveland City Club to spotlight conversations that speak directly to the issues women business owners face.

"We The People: The Power of Women and the American Promise," covers the history of the women at the heart of many of America's largest movements. We cannot talk about abolition without Harriet Tubman; voting rights without Susan B. Anthony; or civil rights without Rosa Parks. The American promise of liberty and self-determination was strengthened by generations of women who shaped our communities, closed gaps, and redefined what civic engagement looked like.

The City Club speaker series' are free and open to the public. As part of our partnership, NAWBO NEO will have a table on site with member materials, so this is a great chance to represent NAWBO and connect with other members in the room. It's also an opportunity to meet other professionals and community members who show up for events like this, expanding your network beyond NAWBO circles. We'd love to see you there.

To kick off the series, the City Club will host an "Open Mic Forum" a chance for YOU to share an idea or discuss a topic that is important to you! Each open mic participant will have five minutes for remarks, which, per City Club tradition, will be followed by a question from the audience for the speaker to address.

If you are interested in taking hold of the mic, submit your topic/idea HERE!
City Club staff will reach out directly if you are selected.

The American promise of liberty and self-determination was strengthened by generations of women who shaped our communities, closed gaps, and redefined what civic engagement looked like. Today, women are succeeding and leading in roles in every sector of American life; and at the same time, addressing persistent challenges both here in Cleveland, and across the nation. Join us as we hear from leading women in organizations that are dedicated to serving, celebrating, and empowering women in our nation's past, present, and future!
