Spring Cleaning For Your Business

Ahh, the snow is gone from Cleveland, and the calendar says that it is Spring - the season to do spring cleaning. Don’t just delegate spring cleaning to your residence. Your business needs spring cleaning as well. Spring is a time for your business to get organized and make improvements. Here are some business spring cleaning tips to get you ready for spring.

  1. Dust off your marketing strategy. A good way to do this is by adding email marketing to your business. It is the most powerful way to connect to your current customers. Emails can be used to promote new services or products, or to advertise end of winter discounts. Sending out emails doesn’t have to be an additional chore. There are plenty of companies out there that do the work for you. If you already use email marketing, then this is the time to spring clean your subscription list.
  2. Scour your website. In the period of a year, it is certain that changes have happened to your business. Make sure your website reflects these changes. Scour your website and make sure that it is a good representation of your current brand. Or maybe the language seems a bit stilted, consider rewriting descriptions of your business.
  3. Vacuum your staffing needs. Look back over last year’s data and consider how many employees you’ll need this year.  This would be a good time to promote exceptional workers and/or to give full-time status to any part-timers who are looking for full-time work.
  4. Wipe down your business plan. Because businesses constantly change and develop, it’s important to look back over the previous year and decide what sort of changes need to be made. Remember, your business plan is your company’s foundation.
  5. Sweep out your inbox. You are a busy business owner, and sometimes, you’ve let your emails pile up. You’ll handle them later, right? In no time your inbox has become a disaster zone. Use springtime to pick up the broom and sweep out those irksome emails that have been hanging around.
  6. Scrub down your office space - literally. This is the time to physically clean your work area. It has been said that “a clean space equals a clean mind”.  Remember, we are living in the Coronavirus Age - do some extra deep cleaning to stay ahead of that dastardly virus. Decluttering and scrubbing is the name of the game. When your workspace looks better, you’ll feel better.

When you have finished your business spring cleaning, you can finally look forward to this wonderful season of renewal for you and your business.
